Which is better Jade Roller or Gua Sha?

So I am all about learning natural ways to maintain my skin without using ton of chemicals and products. Unless you have really great genes, your skin does tend to show aging signs in your 30’s. There are lot of ways to maintain your skin naturally – manage stress, drink lot of water, avoid white sugar and junk food, get enough sleep, a healthy diet, exercise, etc.

Up until a few years ago I had never heard of Gua sha or jade rolling. Gua sha is an ancient practice evolved from Traditional Chinese Medicine which has been used for thousands of years. I was very curious to know what’s the hype about? I am sure you have heard of Jade Roller as well. It can get confusing and also who has the time to include everything in our daily skin regime. So let me share my thoughts on both and which one I prefer the most. Jade Rollers are generally a more soothing treatment, and helps quickly stimulate blood flow and drain puffiness. Gua sha, on the other hand, works a lot deeper and can be much more powerful when used correctly. It helps release muscle tension in a way that jade rollers can’t, and can make more of a difference when working with deep-set wrinkles or deeper cystic conditions. Their common goal is to promote optimal circulation and lymphatic drainage.” recommend using a jade or rose quartz facial roller when you feel like you need a refreshing pick me up or relaxing moment of pause. Facial rolling provides a more delicate facial massage than gua sha and leaves skin feeling refreshed and awake.

So bottom line is, these tools works very similarly, but you can see more results with Gua Sha. However, learning how to use them properly do take time, so a facial roller can be a better option for sensitive skin or acne-prone skin that’s looking for a quick, soothing treatment, and don’t have the time or will to commit to a Gua Sha ritual!

For me the winner is Gua Sha as it helps with the below:

-increased facial lymphatic drainage
-decreased inflammation, acne scarring
-facial muscle tension relief
-decreased fine lines and wrinkles

Sharing the Gua Sha and Jade Roller I use! Enjoy.
